Impressive, isn’t it?

From my childhood, I have always desired financial success. Howbeit, the only way I knew how to reach my dream was formal education. So, I ensured I got all the education I could afford to get.

My first degree was from University of Benin, Nigeria. Straight from National Youth Service, I went for a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in University of Lagos, Nigeria. A second Master’s degree from University of London. Why?

My only understanding of how to succeed and reach my financial dream was to get a better education that will land me the dream job.

My professional career began in 1994 when I started working for a multinational company. Like most people, I wanted to make money – a lot of money – but I had no idea where to begin. I did know I’d need a high-paying job if I wanted a high income.

Unfortunately, this was easier said than done.

After 5 years at the multinational company, I wanted more – personally, professionally, and financially. So, I transitioned into a job in the financial industry. My thoughts were that a higher income would bring me closer to my financial goals.

A year later, my expenses surpassed my income – once again. How was I supposed to build wealth when I had nothing to put into savings after covering my expenses? So I was back to square one – searching for a higher paying job once again so that I could move closer to the life I wanted.

I moved onto a leading multinational oil company, bringing my annual income to over eighteen million naira as at 2001 ($170k) . I thought I was in heaven at this point and would be comfortable for a long time. But…

You guessed right – once again, my expenses kept rising. The Parkinson’s Law set in – my expenses quickly rose, like a Tsunami, to meet my income. Once again, I was back on the job hunt. It was a vicious cycle, and I felt trapped, suffocated – with no way out. I had to make a change, but I had NO idea what to do.

It was then that I had my lucky strike. I consider it, the day I met with fortune.

I was working with a supervisor at the time. He knew all about my career history and saw me searching for new jobs after working for the multinational oil company for just two months. My supervisor was smart – he immediately knew I had a problem with money.

It was then that he gave me a book. Little did I know that, that one little book would change my life…FOREVER!

This simple book he handed over to me was the beginning of my journey to financial literacy and intelligence, investment and business building. In one year, my life took a 360-degrees turn. To cut a long story short, here’s what I achieved by applying what I learned in ONE YEAR:

  • Saved 30% of my salary
  • Made an initial payment for my first house.
  • Understood the pivotal role of personal development
  • Understood the difference between ACTIVE income, PASSIVE income, WAGES, and PROFIT.

Wages make you a living. Profits make you a fortune. That’s the difference between having a JOB and a BUSINESS.

Schooling gave me the knowledge and skills I needed to become a highly paid professional and employee, but it did not teach me the most important thing – financial literacy, investment, how to build businesses and grow to make contributions.

This insight was all the inspiration I needed to embrace my entrepreneurial dreams and do whatever it took to build a lucrative business. I had made a lot of business and investment mistakes and failures. One notable one was when a few of my friends and I lost about a billion naira in the stock market. These mistakes cost me a lot of time, money and stress but hopefully, you’ll learn from my mistakes without having to repeat them.

I had an accumulated experience from both being a business executive as well as failing painfully in my entrepreneurial journey, with an investment of over $100K in personal development, working with world class coaches like John C. Maxwell, T. Harv Eker, Eben Pagan, Tony Robbins, Dean Graziosi, Paul Martinelli, Christian Simpson, Brendon Burchard, Christian Mickelsen and others and finally succeeding unbelievably in my own personal businesses. Again I say trust me – I get it. I’ve been in your shoes. I also know what it takes to step out of them. It took over a decade, but it was ALL worth it.

If you’re anything like I was, you’ve probably noticed that it doesn’t matter how hard you work. If you’re putting in the hours and not getting financially rewarded, you won’t be inspired to keep going. It’s endlessly frustrating – I know.

But here’s the good news. If I could turn my situation around, YOU can TOO, even better, I can HELP YOU.

Yes, I have done a lot of things wrong, but I’ve also done a lot of things right. The key for me, apart from personal success, is helping others succeed. And I want to help you, your team and organization.

Here is what Hyacinth says about his journey;

I have been a mere diligent starter, however, two traits kept me going; continuous learning and avid networking. I have always sought for growth and development opportunities and was never afraid to relish a challenge. What I truly believe is that in the midst of all that I have accomplished, I must always give something back to my community. For that reason, I help entrepreneurs to discover, start, nurture, systemize, and scale their business ideas. For this cause I founded the WEALTH PATHFINDERS BUSINESS NETWORK, a network of business builders and corporate professionals sharing knowledge, resources and more to help each other succeed in business and in life.
